In March 2016, Population & Avenir had published a twofold alert [1] on the demographic evolution of France. Signals were pointing to a continuous fall in fertility, an analysis confirmed by the demographic results for the year 2017. Yet we still have to decipher in depth why there are fewer and fewer births in France.
