Covid-19: the Three Demographic Breaks and Prospective Thinking

Prospective thinkers use the term “break” to refer to developments that diverge from patterns that might have been expected from simply taking into account previously observed dynamics. Breaks are precisely what have happened in population dynamics since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, inviting us, for example in France, to distinguish two types, one confirmed, the two others observed.
