Paris has always played a leading role in French governments. This has been exemplified in the latest incarnation announced by Prime Minister Michel Barnier in September 2024, the city of Paris being represented by no fewer than five of the 39 ministers; but did its performance in sport at the 2024 Paris Olympics measure up?
